My restoration. I'm called Lofty because I spent so much time in the loft. Some of me is still there!

Backplate - welding on new support bracket
A new support bracket has been welded on for the brakeshoe pins. You can just see where it was snapped off in the lower picture

Autokleans
Two later Autokleans, both unused. The filters from the brass one are the same so this might get stripped down to repair a glass bowl one. The glass bowl one will probably go on a car that's lost its filter over the years.
Brake rod adjusters
New brake rod adjusters. c/w threaded at one end, anticlock the other so when you turn them, both rods are pushed out, or pulled in.

Water pump patterns
This is a set of wooden patterns, made to slightly larger than the correct size to allow for shrinkage when the metal cools. They will go off to the foundry soon to have some sand moulds made for test casting.
New timing gears
New timing gears. Some are in brass, others are in steel. They alternate to keep the noise down. All my steel ones are OK, but the brass ones are all damaged so I need a set of those.

Then a test machining on a brass rod.

Beaulieu International Autojumble 2014
Well, it's been a long time since the last post. Lots has been happening, but no photos. My owner did manage to get down to the Autojumble though. He bought a few small bits, spent too much time in the beer tent probably.
Soon there should be some more photos as more parts I am missing may come out of the mist. Much negotiation is going on, we'll see...
Most of the bits above will be used as swaps, but the connectors (bottom right) may get used for my rear lights - if he ever gets them restored.
The block is being machined, the new crank is being machined, the crankcase is ready for white-metaling to take the crank... watch this space.

Stig - raising money for disability challengers
Annabel has been raising money for Disability Challengers, and then won a bottle of wine in the raffle.

A good day at (very sunny) Beaulieu Spring Autojumble
A Rotax MT77 starter, and a thirteen tooth bendix. The starter was cheap, it needs a bit of work but can then be sold at a profit, the 13T bendix is a very rare item that might be of use. It all depends on what ring gear is used on the flywheel.

That was close!
I guesstimated how much HT lead I would need to make a new set of spark plug and magneto/coil cables for Annabel as the old ones were rotting (I got zapped). This is the leftover cable. I'm not sure why I bothered to cut it off really.

Auto-Klean filter, not very klean
This just arrived - seriously filthy. I finally got it open and all the crud to the right of the bowl was covering the filter elements. It's amazing any petrol got through. It protected it for all those years though and the filter sheets are perfect. I've never seen one with a metal bowl. I think this came from a tractor. I'm now talking to a local glass blower to try to get some glass bowls made.

First drive of 2014
Annabel off for her first trip of the year, going to the local school for their Transport Week. The carburettor had dried out over winter, but once filled up, she started first time!

Another petrol AutoKlean
Another petrol AutoKlean which will probably go on another car as quite a few are missing them. I've never one with a metal bowl before.

New brake drums
I prefer to use the original part, but trying to make oval cast-iron drums round again just isn't a sensible option. These are actually steel, not cast-iron. Lighter and better than the originals, another thing to be wary of, making things "better" but the actual braking force won't be any different so it'll be fine.

AutoKlean petrol filter
Missing its glass bowl, but these filters are so hard to find. This one will go on another twincam as I already have one in my "pile" of bits. I've added a pic of the engine of the car that will get this rare part.
