First drive of 2014

Annabel off for her first trip of the year, going to the local school for their Transport Week. The carburettor had dried out over winter, but once filled up, she started first time!

Another petrol AutoKlean

 

Another petrol AutoKlean which will probably go on another car as quite a few are missing them. I've never one with a metal bowl before.

New brake drums

I prefer to use the original part, but trying to make oval cast-iron drums round again just isn't a sensible option. These are actually steel, not cast-iron. Lighter and better than the originals, another thing to be wary of, making things "better" but the actual braking force won't be any different so it'll be fine.

AutoKlean petrol filter

Missing its glass bowl, but these filters are so hard to find. This one will go on another twincam as I already have one in my "pile" of bits. I've added a pic of the engine of the car that will get this rare part.

 

Another "Rotax" fuse box

It's always the same. Something turns up, then something slightly better turns up, then...

The similarity between this much later fuse box and the Rotax one is remarkable. It's plastic, but it's the same colour as Bakelite. Once the white writing is polished off it will look great.

Things of beauty. One for me, one for another car.

"Rotax" Fuse box

I wouldn't have had a fuse box originally, but I need one that won't look out of place next to the Rotax Cutout box, so this is made from an old Lucas fusebox base, and a metal cover from something else to replace the curved plastic cover.
