I'm going to the Capel Classis Car and Bike Show this weekend (Annabel is entry number 327). It's one of my favourite shows, very relaxed and the widest possible variety. The forecast is "bright and mainly dry, showers Saturday night". Should be good!

It was a great day.
My restoration. I'm called Lofty because I spent so much time in the loft. Some of me is still there!

Water Pump
The water pump is a right old mess, but it turns out it's an original casting of both body and lid and because they rot, that's fairly unusual. We'll cast a new one using this as a pattern. They've been cast before, but never from an original lid.

Starting to look like a rolling chassis
Here's the chassis, painted and polished. Front axle waiting for springs and hubs, but otherwise complete, steering linkages restored and on top.

Aluminium welding a mounting block on the crankcase
The crankcase had a large chunk of aluminium missing from one of the mounting blocks. The restorer has welded it up using period aluminium so as to get the same alloy. This is a hugely skilled job and I'm delighted with the way it has turned out.
In the lower picture you are looking at the back of the crankcase looking forward. The left hand chassis rail bolts to the block that has been welded. The top surface of the crankcase is top right in the picture.
