Jaeger 0-120MPH speedo and a Smiths 30-100 temp gauge

Another two parts from eBay. The first is a Jaeger 0-120 speedo. Actually it's an old conversion, it has a Smiths 0-120 mechanism and a reproduction face in a Jaeger speedo case.I'll put a new bezel on it with a fake tripmeter knob where the filled in hole is and it'll go in the car. Or, I might put another mechanism in it. I'm not sure, but I'll keep this face and not the one I bought earlier, this is an old reproductioon, so it's faded and aged a bit and looks very convincing.

Then I got this, a Smiths 30-100 temp gauge. That's my dashboard complete :o)

Vintage Auto Klean oil strainer and Autoklean glass bowl fuel filter

Another good eBay haul! Two Auto Klean parts I needed. The first is an oil strainer. I'm not entirely sure how this works, but I daresay I'll work it out. Apparently they come in three sizes. I wasn't aware of that when I bought it, but we'll see whether it's correct when it arrives.

The second part is an Auto Klean glass bowl fuel / gas filter.

If you have one of these and want to sell it, please get in touch using the contact page on www.vintagesunbeams.blogspot.com because I know someone who wants one! I think they were also used on tractors - condition is unimportant!

New Jaeger 0-120mph face

I've also bought this 0-120mph reproduction face for the Jaeger speedo. I'm not entirely sure it's the correct design, it may be slightly later, but it will do until I find a period one. It still has the protective cover on of course!

Oil Pressure gauge

And another instrument. This is the Oil Pressure Gauge. I only have a Smiths temp gauge to find now, or I could fit a reproduction one.

Le Nivex Gauge

After days of soaking in WD40 and working at it, I finally managed to get the corroded gauge open. It's in excellent condition inside, cleaned up nicely and now works perfectly.

Rotax K373 number two

This is a correct Rotax K373. I have a second, but that one isn't quite correct as the socket is at the back. This one has a beam adjuster at the back and the socket is below it.

The chassis is ready

Well, I now have a new chassis for the car (there are three in the picture). It's a perfect replica of a genuine twincam chassis. This means I now have a Sunbeam 20.9 chassis for sale.

I also have five more wheels. That means I have six usable wheels and a whole pile of hubs and rims. I'll sell some of the extra parts after the car is on the road.

EAA Le Nivex Gauges

And more parts. This time a Le Nivex gauge in superb condition. It can pretty much go straight onto the car. There's a second one too, I'll probably sell that once I'm certain the first one needs no spare parts.

It's interesting that all the gauges I'm finding are in French!

Another Rotax FT26

I have bought a second Rotax FT26 from eBay. The first one is in a rare old state and is missing its back box. This one is much better and has its back-box, but is missing the brass front plate. Between the two, I now have a complete FT26 which is brilliant. I never really expected to find one, finding two is just superb luck.

Other parts have arrived. I have the first Claudel Hobson AZP carburettor and a flywheel. These are very important. I swapped my spare starter motor for them. I still need a second carb, but this is fantastic news.

Kigass and BTH CE6

And another couple of parts. Firstly a kigass. This one has the correct knob on it, not the later Bakelite one. It came complete with the pipes.

Then another CE6. I now have two, although I also have a spare CED6, but that will be sold at some point.

A couple more bits, but a lot of news.

Well there's a lot going on, but not much in the way of new parts. This Marschall Fuse Box is my only interesting addition. It's not actually correct for the car as it may not have had any fuses fitted when new, and if it did it would have had a Rotax fusebox. Still, it's a lovely period thing, and will not be seen anyway - I'll know it's there though :o)

The main news is that the radiator is on the way, that I may have a new correct chassis made instead of using the Sunbeam 20.9 chassis I have and that a kit of wooden parts for the body is on the way
