We're not a million miles away from putting wheels on for the first time since the car was dismantled in the 60s.
My restoration. I'm called Lofty because I spent so much time in the loft. Some of me is still there!

U-bolt carriers made, and the front axle is in place
Another huge step forward. The U-bolt carriers have been made, so the front axle is now mounted on the chassis.

History of a vintage dash switch
As luck would have it I spotted another switch while idly browsing eBay Australia. The switches are probably American and both went to Australia.
The top switch arrived today and was in a car that died prior to WW2. The car was left in the blackberries on a farm in far east Victoria. In the eighties, the farmer needed a switch for a dash fan in his VW Combi, and although the car was by then a rusted hulk, the switch had been protected by the scuttle for 45 years, and just needed a clean. After being used for 5 years, it then ended up in a box in the garage for another 20 years before going on eBay and being bought by me. In a few years time it will have another lease of life in a 1926 Sunbeam Twincam. I wonder where it will go next!!
